CONCEPT EURO SOUVENIR

The 0 Euro Souvenir banknotes are produced on genuine banknote paper in a world-renowned securities printing house with professional security features. This is certainly a major reason for their success with tourists and collectors. These features include watermarks, microprinting, seethrough register, tactile elements as used on genuine banknotes for the visually impaired, UV features, as well as a broken security stripe and a hologram.

In addition to visible security features, Euro Souvenir banknotes also contain those that are not visible at first glance. To view some of these security features it is necessary to look at the Euro Souvenir under a UV lamp. In this view, it is possible to see some elements highlighted.

Flag on the left side of banknote means that Euro Souvenir notes are made as European souvenir primary for countries which use euro currency. There are exists more different types of paper with other flags (Great Britain and Switzerland).

Hologram foil on the right side of banknote is one of the most important security features which is used on Euro Souvenir. This version of paper contain new one hologram foil where you can see the 0 in the middle more clearly. This foil has been used sincce end of the year 2018.

Security stripes are like real banknotes, this is a real stripe incorporated into the note. Currently, 19 different stripes are known. A security stripe marked "S13" is used on newest type of paper. The picture also shows the first used security thread marked "S1".

BASIC MODELS OF EURO SOUVENIR CONCEPT

The first 0 Euro Souvenirs were printed in 2015, exclusively for tourist destinations in France. In 2016, the souvenir concept was refreshed with a new design featuring the iconic Big Ben clock tower on the back. This was the first time a non-French landmark was featured on a souvenir. The new design also debuted the Torre de Belém, a 16th-century fortress in Portugal, which replaced Big Ben in 2017. In 2018, a security upgrade was implemented, replacing the original hologram with a new one featuring intricate empty spaces.

2020 marked the 5th anniversary of the 0 Euro Souvenir, and to celebrate, the souvenir's design was enhanced once again. A striking addition of five blue stars on the right side of the souvenir captured collectors' attention. Production also underwent a change, with every new note produced in 2020 featuring a UV imprint commemorating the anniversary. This feature was included on 20% of the entire production. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, production shifted to smaller quantities (3.000 pieces per motive), and the anniversary imprint was extended to 33% of these limited-edition souvenir notes. Only 1 milion pieces were produced with special UV imprint.

The evolution of the 0 Euro Souvenir has made the note more secure and appealing to collectors. The introduction of advanced security features has enhanced its counterfeit-resistance, while design enhancements have increased its visual appeal.

OTHER MODELS OF EURO SOUVENIR CONCEPT

Beyond the standard 0 Euro Souvenir notes, a unique series has been crafted for specific markets. In 2017, a special run featuring diverse motifs was launched in sets of 2017 pieces, printed on polymer paper. To cater to the Swiss market, a special edition was created, devoid of the word "euro" and featuring the Swiss flag instead of the European Union emblem. Mirroring the design and security enhancements of the original 0 Euro Souvenir concept, these Swiss souvenirs underwent similar modifications.

In 2021, the concept expanded to encompass a specialty designed specifically for the UK market, officially renamed "Zero Pound Souvenir". This souvenir model sports a unique logo replacing the original "Euro Souvenir" mark, and the European Union flag is replaced by the UK flag.
